University of Groningen sustainability contest – Green Mind Award – for university staff and students is an award for the most sustainable idea of 2012.

ombrellonesolare.it in collaboration with the Professor of Photophysics and Optoelectronics Maria Antonietta Loi participated at the 2012 edition (GreenMindAward website). The projects registered were 62 with workable ideas in many areas: reducing the consumption of water and energy, minimise commuting where possible, changes in the behavior of staff and students.
Last October the Jury voted the submissions for the best three entries GreenMindAward. The ceremony took place on 29th November at Van Swinderenhuis – Groningen where all the nominated projects were presented. Professor of Photophysics Maria Antoinetta Loi was awarded the third prize for the project ombrellonesolare.it and the University decided to install some solar parasols on its gardens and outside areas.

We will participate at the “ecopolis – festival of sustainability”, the next 9th-11th November (Riserva Naturale Abbadia di Fiastra – Google Maps ).
The event, dedicated to Ferruccio Jarach, aims to continue his road to promote
sustainable behaviors. The event is open to all, has a full program of meetings, workshops and
free courses on sustainability and will be an important opportunity to learn about and try our solar parasol.

Florence, 25th – 27th May 2012 – ombrellonesolare.it at IX edition Terrafutura placed at famous exhibition center Fortezza da Basso.
The important congress exhibition since 2004 has registered remarkable numbers: 600000 visitors, 1500 cultural meetings, 1200 performances, 6000 relators, 4000 exhibitors.
In this edition our solar parasols integrating the light, flexible, semi-transparent organic photovoltaic cells were placed near the information point in the service of visitors as source of clean energy.

Rome – Villa Mondragone, one of the most beautifull “Villae Tuscolanae”, owned by the University of Rome Tor Vergata since 1981 is the site of another installation for ombrellonesolare.it solar parasols. Villa Mondragone is open to the public to enjoy its large rooms and wonderful gardens and for the main events the visitors will find the free recharging service for mobiles, smartphones, tablets, notebooks, foto and video cameras and others electronic devices.

At Rancia Castle, a wonderful location in the center of Italy, our solar parasols will recharge visitors electronic device’s ; The Castle is the location of many important events and congresses; About the important history the most important fact was the battle fought May 2 and 3, 1815 between the French army led by Gioacchino Murat and the Austrian army led by the General Federico Bianchi. The battle of Tolentino 1815 has been regarded as the prologue of Waterloo and the first battle of the Italian Risorgimento (the so called “Resurgence”).
